From conception to performance, live or recorded, digital technology has revolutionised all aspects of the art of making music.
For the manufacturers of audio-visual systems, the art now lies in ensuring that quality is not sacrificed for quantity; that digitally stored information is as easily retrievable as a record off the shelf; that the new systems can expand like an old-style record collection could expand; and that any new technology makes the systems easier, not more difficult, to use.
Pinnacle Audio is dedicated to designing just such systems.
Pinnacle Audio was set up in 2004 by two design engineers (one hardware, one software). Whilst the company itself is relatively young, the two directors have over thirty years of electronics design and project management experience between them. The company is based in south east England and all its products are designed and built in the UK using locally sourced components wherever possible.
Disappointed by the quality and reliability of the AV equipment then available, the Pinnacle engineers set out to produce a high-end music server, initially with the commercial communications and AV market in mind. In so doing, however, they produced a stylish piece of equipment, the Athenaeum, which as a stand-alone item would grace any music lover's home. This led to the development of a cut-down version - the Folio.
Following on from these two successful servers, the company's aim is to take the best ideas from many different avenues of engineering and fuse them unobtrusively into class-leading, feature-rich systems that are a joy to use - systems that will enable any audiophile to enjoy his or her music at its best.
